Fortuna's Gemini is a sculptural piece of jewellery that can be transformed by mechanisms built into the rings. Made up of 183 individual parts in 750/000 yellow gold, each piece is handcrafted. This project was made possible by a combination of traditional and modern technological production methods. Before the actual production of the object, a digital version was created to test the mechanism through motion analysis. In the main body of the ring, a very complex system was built into each of the two rings. This allows a button hidden in the design on the side of the ring to be activated by releasing the safety catch on the underside of the ring.
The ring's top plate opens automatically to reveal its intricate inner workings. As it opens, the plate extends sideways, allowing it to be rotated 180 degrees in one axis and 90 degrees into the other. When fully extended, the two rings join seamlessly to form a single unit. This sculptural object can be displayed on its own or worn as a necklace.

The basic idea was the attraction of two lovers. Two people. Two individuals separated by everyday life. Each wears a ring. A symbol of affection, but also of imperfection without the other. Only when they are reunited do they shine in all their glory.
